Partner
Mr. Paine is a Partner of Paine & Partners, LLC and member of the Investment Committee of its $1.2 billion Fund III.
Mr. Paine was raised in North Conway, NH. He is a graduate of Williams College (B.A., Economics, 1983).
After graduating from Williams College, Mr. Paine began his professional career at Bankers Trust Company in New York and in 1984, joined its Structured Finance Group in Los Angeles, California.
In 1987, Mr. Paine left Bankers Trust to join Robertson Stephens & Company for the purpose of establishing a leveraged buyout group for the firm. Two years later Mr. Paine became the youngest general partner of Robertson Stephens & Company. In 1994, Mr. Paine joined Kohlberg & Company to establish and head the firm’s West Coast office.
In 1997, Mr. Paine co-founded Fox Paine & Company, a private investment firm to which he served as President from its inception until 2008, and member of the Executive Committee of six portfolio companies.
Mr. Paine is currently a member of the Board of Directors of WireCo WorldGroup, Capital Z and some entities of the Stable-Group. Mr. Paine also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Foundation Trustee of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association.
